The last 2 months

I don't like to brag about my life because it's not fabulous nor is it any better than anyone else's. But, I like to share moments that make me happy because in going through past entries on my Xanga journal I noticed I was really "emo college girl". 2009 was really good to me. The superstitious side of me wants to say it's because 2008 was so crummy that the fates had to balance it out with a good year. The more logical and college-educated side thinks it's because for once I led an honest life where I wasn't a complete bitch to others. Life is just easier when you're open and honest to yourself and others. Truth.

What what in the butt butt:
  • Marine Corps Birthday Ball: Nov. 10, 2009. SO FUN! Stayed at the Pala Casino Resort and witnessed my Marine and 1,000 others get drunk and dance to Soulja Boy.
  • Housewarming/Thanksgiving Potluck at my place: It was a small gathering but it was nice :)
  • Thanksgiving: introduced Shane to the fambam! Explored L.A. and took pictures like a tourist.
  • Holiday Party with the co-workers! It was my first holiday party where I wasn't a "+1" and I loved it! Free food and drinks.. yummyyy. My bosses love Shane haha.
  • Christmas: I went home and spent a few days with the family. It was nice to see my cousin who moved from Saigon (I refuse to call it Ho Chi Minh City) to America. I got money and gift cards.. holla fo a dolla.
  • 2 week vacay to Pennsylvania & NYE: The deets are in the previous entry but I got more Christmas gifts!!! I now own a pink Snuggie lol... I seriously thought I'd be the last person to own that thing.
  • Back in California and I'm jetlagged, convinced my allergies are acting up, and catching up on work. Bleak.
Sometimes I wish my work computer came with a camera so I could document the trials and tribulations of my job for all to see.

So 2010 is here, huh? Crazy. But not as crazy as "Snooki" from Jersey Shore. I didn't make any New Year's resolutions this year because I knew I'd break 'em. Instead I'm hellbent on surprising myself if I do happen to, say, lose weight or be a better person. A lot has happened since my last blog but I'll break the updates down in another post. I'll just talk about my trip to Pennsylvania & NYE here.

Shane & I visited his hometown and family for 2 weeks. Altoona is a cute small town surrounded by a lot of trees and nature-related stuff. The temperature was a warm 23 degrees or below and there was snow everywhere. I didn't get a chance to see everything Altoona had to offer because it was too cold to stay outside for more than 5 minutes. Texas Hot Dogs, Sheetz, Brothers Pizza, Yeungling beer, some pizza place in Pittsburgh that puts Dorito chips on the pizza, Hoss's, Zach's, The Knickerbocker, McFadden's, shopping at Logan Valley mall, driving through a beer/beverage place and getting beer without ever leaving the car, experiencing snowfall at night, Shane's handprint from when he was 5-6yrs oldish, the basement with the "sex futon," 6 days of sunshine (not consecutively), drawing a heart in the snow with my feet and trying to write Shane and mine's intials in 2 feet of snow without falling over, seeing a woodpecker in the tree for the first time ever, playing with Parker, Peyton, and Piper Alice... and then getting rejected by Royer (they're all kids under the age of 5 by the way), watching Glee with Papa & Mama McGraw and Shane, giggling with Shane & Grant under Matt & Emily's porch in the basement, New Year's Eve in Pittsburgh and fist pumping all night long. These are just some of the highlights of the trip.

As for NYE itself. We went to McFadden's and for $40 bucks you got entry and a dinner buffet. Then $2 drinks and beers all night til midnight. Got wasted and had my first ever midnight kiss. Witnessed a fight inside the bar, and when the guy got up from the floor, his shirt was soaked in alcohol and whatever else was on the floor. Walked for MILES to find the casino nearby in heels and 15 degree weather. Stole a cab and almost got our asses beat by the line of people waiting for cabs. Continued the festivities at Grant's place in sweatpants while munching down on cold "stoner-pizzas." Kicked Grant out of his own room and then threatened to trash his bedroom (LOL). The best way to start off a new year... ever.
