Valentine's Day Thoughts

It's February 13. I don't really consider this weekend to be VDAY WEEKEND... more like LUNAR NEW YEAR/EATING GOOD/RED ENVELOPE WEEKEND. Year of the Tiger (a.k.a. MY YEAR!) kinda trumps one day/weekend of being unoriginal and broke. I went home to the good ol' San Fernando Valley to spend time with my parental units and celebrate a new year. The drive was ok.. kinda shitty.

What do I REALLY think about V-Day? Well, in theory you should be celebrating your significant other alll the time. But, let's be honest... do you really buy flowers for them all the time? Do you have big romantic dates every other weekend? Probably not, right? I think V-Day technically counts as a second birthday for both man & woman or man & man or woman & woman. So why not use this day as an opportunity to go a little above and beyond what you normally already do for each other? That's how I take it. It's not a real holiday, just a reminder to appreciate each other.

Remixes are crack to me

It's been over a year since Britney Spears released her "Circus" album and a year later I still get obnoxiously excited about remixes to various songs from her album. Like this one remix to her "Circus" song. You know who else has awesome remixes? TIESTO. I'm sure many Tiesto fans have discovered these songs long ago, but I'd like to share my favorites. Snow Patrol's "Open Your Eyes" is something I could run to on a treadmill as well as Maroon 5's "Not Falling Apart". I love them.

I like many songs by Kaskade. It's good music to listen to by yourself on your iPod or while you're driving. Or at work.

P.S. I've linked the song titles to their Youtube counterpart. Feel free to scroll over them.

Did You Know...

that it's February already?! Sigh.. this year is going to fly by and soon enough I'll be starting the countdown to when Shane leaves me for the 'stan.. ugh.

ANYWAYS.. I just wanted to share some things I thought were interesting :]

Did you know...
-February is Library Lovers' Month? I need a library card so I can re-read the Babysitters Club series
-Friday February 5 is International Pancake Day?
-alcohol, caffeine, and sugar can cause back pains?
-one tablespoon of olive oil contains 120 calories?
-the test audience for "Dear John" didn't like how the movie ended so they had to re-film a new ending for it?

Ok.. that's all for now. I will probably write a part 2 version of this soon. Happy Hump Day!
