It's February 13. I don't really consider this weekend to be VDAY WEEKEND... more like LUNAR NEW YEAR/EATING GOOD/RED ENVELOPE WEEKEND. Year of the Tiger (a.k.a. MY YEAR!) kinda trumps one day/weekend of being unoriginal and broke. I went home to the good ol' San Fernando Valley to spend time with my parental units and celebrate a new year. The drive was ok.. kinda shitty.
What do I REALLY think about V-Day? Well, in theory you should be celebrating your significant other alll the time. But, let's be honest... do you really buy flowers for them all the time? Do you have big romantic dates every other weekend? Probably not, right? I think V-Day technically counts as a second birthday for both man & woman or man & man or woman & woman. So why not use this day as an opportunity to go a little above and beyond what you normally already do for each other? That's how I take it. It's not a real holiday, just a reminder to appreciate each other.
