Alpha Phi Omega Banquet 2008

Nostalgia, age, and lots of picture taking. That pretty much sums up my feelings about my last banquet as an active member of my fraternity. This year felt different from the previous years. Maybe it was because I got ready by myself instead of with my usual APO friends, or maybe it's because I only spent an hour getting ready. OR MAYBE it's because I knew it was my last one. Whatever the case may be, the whole event felt surreal.

The location was misleading. On the outside the Bahia resort looked small, drabby, and the type of place you might stay at with your parents. However, the Mission Bay conference/banquet hall was elegant, classy, roomy, and definitely satisfying. During the day you got a great view of the San Diego harbor, and at night the interior lights lit the room up like an Arabian palace. The dance floor was huge, the music was comparable to any nightclub in L.A., the food was delicious (I had the steak.. actually I had TWO steaks =]), and the entertainment was brief but everlasting. I went home with my graduation sash, a shot glass (toothpick holder lol), a picture holder, and the award for the "shortest skirt at banquet."

My only wish is that I had brought my camera. Stupid thing is lost somewhere in all my packed stuff.
P.S. That's a picture of the resort. It's like a MINI ISLAND. Oh and there were TWO seals living in their mini-river island pool in front of the hotel.
